Original Painting Offered at Silent Auction for P.A.W. Spring Performance
From performance to visual artist, Barbara Krystoff-Scott’s body of work reflects diversity and the exploration of different media to express her feelings and perception of the world around her. She has been a performer, has taught at her own ballet school and has now turned her attention to painting the beauty of Oregon.
Krystoff-Scott has offered one of her mixed media paintings entitled “Aero Bourn Corps” for a silent auction at the Performing Arts Workshop Spring Performance on Sat. June 25th and Sun. June 26th. Valued at $3000 with the starting bid beginning at $500, any dollar amount above the $500 opening bid will directly be donated to the Junior Ballet Ensemble.
Krystoff-Scott is a resident of both Yachats, Oregon and Del Mar, California. Her work has been exhibited at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. She established a conceptual art piece, a silent tribute in honor of 9/11 at Power House Park in Del Mar.
A regional juried show at the Museum of the Loving Artist, San Diego Art Institute, exhibited her work in 2005-2006.
Krystoff-Scott has had numerous one woman shows: “Nature in Motion” in Florence, Oregon at the Old Town Coffee Gallery and at the City of Solana Beach Art Gallery; a show at Toad Hall in Yachats, Oregon; “Tale of the Peapod,” a show of her book and illustrations at the Siuslaw Public Library in 2010 and an up and coming show in 2012 at Gallery I featuring 36 paintings at the Florence Events Center, Florence, Oregon.
Her work is held in collections across the globe such as Australia, Canada, Belgium, Czech Republic, Poland, Japan, and South Korea.
The Beth Wilcox Fund – Beth Wilcox danced with the San Diego Civic Youth Ballet. She attended Palomar Junior College as a dance major. Studying under Billie Hutchings, she received instruction in a wide variety of modern dance techniques and danced in modern dance concerts. Beth received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Dance from the University of California, Irvine. As a Dance major at UCI, Beth studied ballet and modern dance with Eugene Loring and Anthony Tudor among others and was chosen to perform in UCI’s graduate dance concert. Beth danced professionally with Starlight Light Opera in San Diego. Miss Beth was a beloved presence at PAW for many years as a teacher, dancer, and performer – she will always be part of the studio. The Beth Wilcox Fund was established in memory of Beth and contributes to the Jr. Ballet Ensemble.
The Karen Durst Costume Fund – Karen Durst was a tremendously creative and talented woman who shared her artistic nature via quilting, sewing, wearable art, and poetry. She was also a devoted mother and loving sister. Her unfailing good humor, willingness to help, and genuine interest in others were all qualities that made her a truly wonderful colleague, mentor, and teacher. Karen generously offered to donate her sewing expertise and costume creations to the Jr. Ballet Ensemble. Unfortunately she was taken from us before her desired donation could be fulfilled. A costume fund was started in her memory to continue her wish to provide costumes to the Jr. Ballet Ensemble.
Longtime friend of the Jr. Ballet Ensemble and PAW Carol Kutlow began her training with Alexandra Fedorova Fokine, Leon Fokin, and Irine Fokine.
